Its Show Time!

Croydon Cat Show 09 - Luna's 1st Show

I took Luna along to the Croydon cat show in Maidenhead, yes I know not in Croydon. When she’s older I hope for some beautiful babies from her in the future.

Thanks to my good friend Julie Hillyard of Mabledon British shorthairs we were able to go.  I’ve been going to cat shows with Julie for some time now which has been a big learning curve for me, and had the opportunity to steward at last year’s East Sussex Cat Club show when the original steward was unavailable at the last minute.

Luna did very well, she was placed 1st in her Open Kitten Class, and she also got two 1st’s a 2nd and a 3rd in the side classes.  Not bad for her first show!

She took it all in her stride and really seemed to enjoy the whole thing, she wasn’t afraid or unsettled, in fact the higher her head was the more she could see and she really wanted to know what was going on around her, she was quite happy to sit in my arms stretching her neck up taking it all in.

Once we got home within an hour she started calling, I blame Julie’s cat Cracker, Big Beautiful Cream British Shorthair, I think he was whispering sweet nothings to her on the back seat of the car on the journey home.

Next time she’s up with the older girls in the adult classes (fingers crossed), but her mum’s proud of her no matter what.

Luna at the Surrey and Sussex Show on the 21st March 09.

I went along once again with Julie and a new friend I have made through Julie, Yvonne, she’s a lovely lady and we get together to show our cats, practically none stop talking and some retail therapy.

I was absolutely thrilled that Luna was placed first in her open class and now has her first CC.  I thought I was seeing things as I went back to the boards 3 times to check I hadn’t imagined it.  She also got 2 further first places and 2 seconds in the side classes.

Once again she loved it.  The below picture was taken by Cat Planets photographer.

I would like to thank Mrs Harper for the lovely critique she gave Luna
